The Boy on the Wooden Box

I recently finished reading The Boy on the Wooden Box by Leon Leyson. This book is 225 pages long. Leon Leyson died in 2013 from T-cell lymphoma. This book was very sad but it mad you thankful for what you have.

Most Germans then were anti-semitic. They destroyed Leon’s world, killing his family, and abusing him mentally and physically. Leon, his parents, and siblings were sent to concentration camps where they were fed poorly and slept in room so tight that is you moved you would lose your spot. Leon thought that everyday would be his last. All he was focused on was surviving the next day. Double Identity

I recently finished reading Double Identity by Margaret  Haddix. This book is 218 pages long. Another book by this author is the Among the Hidden series. I really enjoyed this book because it was a mystery and I like this author’s books.

The Bravelands: A Broken Pride

 

I recently finished reading The Bravelands: A Broken Pride by Erin Hunter. This book is 272 pages long. The next book in the series is The Bravelands: The Code of Honor. If you like books in the fantasy genre then this is a good book for you. I love how the author wrote in from different characters points of view.

Imagine being a lion cub and watching your father being killed by a ruthless lion that takes over your pride. Fearless must strive to survive in the savanna. He has been banished by the new ruler of Gallant pride, Titan. Thorn must become a highleaf and earn his rightful place in the troop. However when the starleaf dies and other high leaf baboons, Thorn is the only one who knows the truth. Sky can read the bones of her ancestors and she has vivid nightmares about things that happen at the watering hole. She tries to warn the others in her herd but no one believes her. A Night Divided

I recently finished reading A Night Divided by Jennifer A. Nielsen. This book is 336 pages long. Another book by this author is The False Prince. If you like books in the historical fiction genre then this is a good book for you. I love this book because of the bravery the characters show.

Number the Stars

I recently finished reading Number the Stars by Lois Lowery. This book is 160 pages long. Lowery also wrote the book The Giver. If you like historical fiction books then this is a good book for you. I really enjoyed this book because it showed what some people had to go through to survive.

“Mama was crying and the rain made it seem like the world was crying too.” German troops started relocating Jews in Denmark. Annamarie’s family take in Ellen, Annamarie’s best friend. Ellen is Jewish and she is posing as Annamarie’s sister. Ellen’s parents were taken and she doesn’t know if they will ever comeback. Annamarie sees the kindness of Danish families as they smuggle Jews out of the grasp of German soldiers. Will Ellen be taken by the Germans? Will Annamarie and her family be killed for hiding Ellen? The Lightning Theif

I recently finished reading The Lightning Theif by Rick Riordan. This book is 384 pages long. It is the first book in a five book series. If you like books in the Fantasy genre, then this is a good book for you. I love this book because every chapter comes from a different character’s perspective.

Percy Jackson could have sworn his algebra teacher turned into a monster that tried to kill him. After hearing about this, Percy’s mom decides it’s time to tell him the truth. The Sea of Monsters

I recently finished reading The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan. This book was 288 pages long. This book is part of a series. The first book in this series is called The Lightning Theif. If you enjoy books with Greek gods in them.

“We only came close to dying six or seven times. I thought that was pretty good.” Percy Jackson finds it hard to have a normal school year. He must leave school and take his six-foot three, mentally challenged, homeless friend to Camp Half Blood. They soon discover the borders that surround the camp have been poisened! If the cure for the borders isn’t found, Camp Half Blood might become over run by monsters.  To make things worse Grover, Percy’s other friend, has been taken to an island surrounded by a sea of monsters. The Titan’s Curse

I recently finished reading The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan. This book is 320 pages long. This book is part of a series. The first book is called The Lightning Theif. If you like books about Greek gods than this is a good book for you. I really enjoyed this book because I could remember things about the gods that we learned last year in history.

“My mom packed me an overnight bag and a few deadly weapons…” Percy Jackson is being sent off to yet another boarding school. However, when one of the goddesses goes missing he decides to go looking for her. Percy also must solve the mystery of the rare creature she was chasing when she went missing. This creature holds up the sky and has been trying to find someone to put the weight on ever since. Also this creature must be found, for it has the power to destroy Mount Olympus. Wizard For Hire

I recently finished reading Wizard For Hire by Obert Skye. This book is 400 pages long. The author who wrote this book came for an author visit the week before spring break. If you like Harry Potter, then you would really enjoy this book too. I really enjoyed this book because it had a lot of plot twists and the chapters weren’t very long.

“Wizard For Hire. Call 555-SPEL.” Ozzy moved into the woods with his family seven years ago. One day his parents were abducted by men in green. Ozzy lived alone in a box full of unpacked boxes in the middle of the woods. There were no roads for miles. Then while he was exploring the house he finds a secret compartment hidden in the stair well. It contained a box with CLARK written on the top. Inside the box there were old tapes of his dad’s work. It was good to hear his father’s voice. While adventuring outside the house, Ozzy makes his way to the beach. There he meets a girl that might help him get into a school and find his parents. I recently finished reading Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan. This book is 361 pages long. This book is part of a series. The first book in this series is called The Lightning Thief. I really enjoyed this book because the characters are different than what you would expect them to be like.
